THE SOUTH PORCH
dates from the 15th century and was left intact by the Victorian restorers.  From a deep band of quatrefoils there rises a ribbed and panelled vault of Ham stone. The ribs spring from some particularly fine carved busts and heads although many of these were defaced during the Reformation.   Two of the heads bear shields charged with a sword and key crossed (for Ss Peter and Paul)   The hood mould of the door leading into the Church springs from two heads:  West a woman with head-dress of the period,  East a man.   The buttresses of the porch are set diagonally and bear lofty and graceful pinnacles.
