St. Peter and St. Paul Church, Odcombe
The Church is open 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and of course on Sunday mornings.
Take your family and friends and have a good browse around.  No doors are shut to you.  A climb up the tower to take in the commanding views from the top is a ‘must’! (the Churchwarden - John Worledge will be pleased to arrange this for you. Phone 01935 862874)
What else can be seen?
The font (it dates back to Norman times)
The font cover, believed to be the original, hangs on the wall nearby.
The organ (donated by the congregation in memory of good old George)
The ‘Good Shepherd’ window (donated by Archie dean when he retired in 1991 after 30 years as Rector.
The clock, dated 1897, was donated by the congregation to mark the 60th Jubilee of Queen Victoria
The bells, 6 in number (dating back to 1791)
The Coryate history (the famous man of Odcombe)
These, and more, make a visit worthwhile. A booklet is available in the Church which amplifies all the above and covers other items of interest (price £1, please put your money in the wall safe by the entrance)
And what of the future?  We aim to make the Church more ‘user friendly’.
