INTRODUCTION
A church has stood on the elevated site at Odcombe for over 800 years. There are few signs of the original church as it was substantially rebuilt in the early 15th Century with further modifications and extensions in the 19th century.
The prominent position of the Church must have provided a well known landmark for travellers on the London Road, which followed the route along Camp Road and down into Chinnock Hollow. Doubtless many travellers stopped off at one of the Odcombe Inns and visited the Church for a moment of quiet reflection on their arduous journey.
